Friday Photo

Death Valley.

This might have been the trip that I got a flat tire while in Death Valley. I would only go there in the spring, when the temps would only get up to the 80's.

No big interesting stories on this trip, sorry!

Beautiful picture Papias! You have a lot of talent.

A flat tire in Death Valley is a scary thing. Were you alone?

We had an opportunity to visit Death Valley when Buster was working in LA. We have lots of pics. I remember the sliding rocks, Scotty's Castle, Devil's golf course(is that the name? the salt area?) ...

Buster found an old Borax mine. We were poking around in some of the mounds and all of a sudden this huge bee (or something) came flying up out of there and coming right for us...we jumped in the car but the thing did not stop...it was hitting the window repeatedly trying to get to us..even charging after us as we were driving away.

Thanks Nic and Dusty!

Dusty, I was alone for my flat tire. Kinda scary. But it never stopped me from going out to take pics by myself. One of my Yosemite pics that I will post will have the scariest story of being by myself. You have to be careful when you travel by yourself.

The Salt flats are called Badwater - lowest point in the Western Hemisphere - I think. I have a sunrise shot from there that I need to scan.

Death Valley is so cool. It is one of those spots that you can hear nothing - not a bird, not a plane overhead, not anyone else - total silence. Nothing but your own heartbeat...
